LI Yang

Yang Li is a Professor and Ph.D. advisor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). He was born in June 1982, in Hebei Province, P. R. China. From 2010 to 2012, he studied abroad at West Virginia University in the United States. He graduated with a Ph.D. degree in mining engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 2012. In 2022, he was selected for the National Youth Talent Program. Professor Li has received numerous honors, including the National Youth Science and Technology Award in Coal, the Advanced Educator in the Coal Industry, and the Young Teaching Master Award. He serves as the Secretary-General of the Coal Mine System Engineering Professional Committee of the China Coal Society, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Green and Intelligent Mining of Thick Coal Seams, Deputy Director of theTop-CoalCavingMining Research Center of China CoalIndustry, a member of the International Conference on Ground Control in Mining (ICGCM) of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) in the USA, a member of the Society of Mining Professors, a board member of the International Research Alliance on Coal, and a specially appointed expert for the Tangshan Municipal Government in Hebei Province.

His research interests include multi-seam coal mining, mining indamaged zones, ground control, and industrial engineering. He has received one second prize for National Science and Technology Progress, two first prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels, and six second prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels. He has published three monographs in Chinese, one monograph in English, three co-authored books in English, and three textbooks. Additionally, he has authored over 40 academic papers.
